Gurvey’s Law Citizens United special extravaganza. Alan Gurvey and Kerri Kasem are honored to welcome three of the nation's most celebrated and scholarly constitutional law experts. They will discuss political campaign financing, 1st Amendment rights and the Supreme Court. Akhil Amar is a Professor of Law at Yale Law School and was named among the top 20 contemporary U.S. legal thinkers. He served as clerk for now United States Supreme Court Justice Steven Breyer. Michael McConnell is the Director of the Constitutional Law Center at Stanford Law School. He has argued 14 cases in front of the United States Supreme Court and clerked for Justice William J. Brennan, Jr., of the United States Supreme Court. Erwin Chemerinsky is the founding Dean of University of California, Irvine School of Law, and in January 2014, The National Jurist Magazine named Dean Chemerinsky as the most influential person in legal education in the United States. These three experts will be discussing the many issues inherent in the Citizens United Supreme Court decision and its effects on our election climate.
