with Melina Abdullah, Ph.D., Black Lives Matter, Joe Domanick, The Crime Report and Greg Barker, Film Director

790 KABC, January 27, 2018

What should we make of LAPD Chief Charlie Beck's sudden announcement that he is retiring without finishing his term? Alan Gurvey and Kerri Kasem talk to BlackLivesMatter co-founder Melina Abdullah, whose organization is celebrating Beck's departure and The Crime Report’s Joe Domanick who applauds Beck's work with the LAPD. Also, Professor Abdullah will talk about her speech at the Women's-March LA, as well as her 14 year-old daughter's speech at the march about the Palestinian/Israeli conflict. In the second half hour, Gurvey's Law turns its attention to "The Final Year," a new documentary chronicling Barack Obama and the Department of State’s last 15 months in office. Director Greg Barker joins us in studio to discuss how he gained unprecedented access to The White House, and what it was like filming President Obama with his inner Cabinet during such a dramatic time. Greg will tell us what really went on behind closed doors with the outgoing administration and what they thought about DonaldTrump and the Russians. Give a listen to this jam-packed episode of Gurvey's Law  and tune in on Saturdays, airing at 2pm PST on KABC-AM 790 TalkRadio and streaming live on www.kabc.com!
